Exposure

Exposure is the amount of light allowed to fall on the photographic medium. IF you have a longer lasting exposure you will be letting more light in and whatever you are taking a picture of better remain still or it will be blurry. If you use a shorter exposure it will take in less light and that is when you need to use the flash. You can set the shutter to be more open or more closed and you can determine the amount of light that is let in. Aperture is a hole or opening through which light is emitted. F-Stop is the focal length divided by the diameter of the lens.

Some ideas for further research.

What are sample shutter settings?

What are some sample Aperture sized?

How is an F-Stop calculated?

What is a "Stop" (for shutter and for aperture).

What is the relationship between Shutter and Aperture?

What camera settings allow you to set the aperture and shutter.

Mr. H knows all. Do what he says :]
You can't know how to use aperture and shutter speed together unless you know how they respond to eachother!
